No experience?

Basic skills are required to join all teams.  Basic skills involve linking turns and having control of your board.  Participants without any experience, need to acquire basic skills . 

Riders seeking an introduction to snowboarding or to develop basic skills are encouraged to register for lessons through Three Rivers Parks or Buck Hill

TEAM DESCRIPTIONS

G “Fun” Team 

This division offers the intensity and comradery of the G Team with a lesser commitment for snowboarders and freeskiers  but with all the "fun." G "Fun" Team is open to K-12 and  will focus on on-hill safety, basic fundamentals to advanced techniques while improving their level of skiing and snowboarding. This division is designed for riders who have acquired their basic skills through advanced, to train just one day a week for 9 weeks throughout the winter. 

G “Fun” Team Alpine Practice Opportunity: Hyland G "Fun" Team riders have an opportunity to participate in additional alpine practices this season. The objective of alpine snowboarding is to maneuver (turn) around a series of gates in a Slalom course. No experience or special equipment is necessary. This training is also great for the advanced beginner rider to the more advanced freerider. Riders must be able to competently link with both toe and heel turns together to participate. Riders must confirm ahead of time with online registration that will begin in January. No additional cost to participate for G “Fun” Team members.

Shred X Team

This division is geared toward those  snowboarders & free skiers who would like to train once a week, but also have the option to compete. Shred X  offers riders in grades 4-12 who have acquired their basic skills through advanced looking to train in freeride, slopestyle (freestyle) or alpine disciplines with G "Fun" Team for 9 scheduled weeks on your selected practice day.  Riders then have the opportunity to train with a competition coach on select days and have the option to compete in 4 local Slopestyle competitions in the USASA Upper Midwest Snow Series. Coaches will prepare athletes for competitions and will be on-hand at the competitions to assist riders in achieving their fullest potential! Shred X On-Snow Schedule: Riders train on 9 select days with G "Fun" Team plus  additional competition practices.  

Development TEAM

The Development Team is for snowboarders in K-12th grade  and freeskiers in 2nd-12th grade.  Riders are of various levels the option to train 2-3 times per week, plus scheduled Saturdays, depending on their program.

Training will begin with dryland in September. Dryland consists of circuit training and cross-training and may also have skateboarding and trampoline training! On-snow training will follow dryland in November or December, snow permitting.  G Team Development Divisions are non-competitive programs and are geared towards the recreational snowboarder and free skier who enjoys practicing and achieving their potential without the focus of competing and gearing up for the next competition.

Competition TEAM

G Team Competition division trains alongside with G Team Development Team, and has everything the Development Team offers, plus gives riders the option to compete in local and regional competitions, including the USASA Upper Midwest series. Coaches will prepare athletes for competitions and will be on-hand at the competitions to assist our riders in achieving their potential! Riders have the option to compete and are not required to participate in competition. The team has many riders who enjoy practicing and achieving their potential in snowboarding freesking without pursuing the competitive aspect. 

Snowboard Competitions consist of Slopestyle, Rail Jam, Boardercross, Halfpipe and Alpine 

Freeski Competitions consist of Slopestyle, Rail Jam, Skiercross and Halfpipe

Am & Pro Am Teams

Am Team is a program geared towards the aspiring “Pro Snowboarder” and National level competitor. The goal is to prepare the motivated rider with all the necessary tools to become a professional rider and be competitive at the highest levels of competition. Riders will also receive assistance with sponsorship and media exposure. Riders in this program must be highly dedicated and have an overall finish within the top 33% of their age group for one discipline in the regional USASA series within the last 2 years in order to qualify.

Top riders with proven competition results make our our Pro Am Team.  These riders demonstrated the ability and commitment needed needed to be on the Pro Am Team.

Riders will have the opportunity to compete at select National and International events, including USSA Revolution Tour, Hole Shots, Grand Prix’s, Race to the Cup, U.S. Open and more.

Multiple Disciplines

Snowboarders  will chose Freestyle/Slopestyle or Alpine as their primary team. Riders may add another 2nd primary team and be on both the Freestyle/Slopestyle and Alpine Teams for an additional fee and evening of practice.  This does not apply to skiers 

Secondary teams include Boardercross/Skiercross, Halfpipe and Rail Jam. Any secondary teams will result in an additional fee, except Freestyle/Slopetsyle Competition Team riders can choose to be on the Rail Jam Team at no additional cost. (Rail Jam is for Competition Team Members only) 

You may try out any discipline once with no additional fee.

DRYLAND

Fun Team members : may add Dryland for a nominal fee

G Team Membership for all Divisions

Membership includes the following : 

1. On-snow practice and coaching

2. Dryland training for Fall (additional fee for G “Fun” Team & Shred X)

3. Hillside coaching for all practices (approximately 8:1 or less athlete to overall coach ratio)

4. Regional Event Coaching for Competition  & Shred X Team members.  This will be for your Primary Team -  Shred X supports either Alpine or Slopestyle only. Competition Team supports either Alpine or Slopestyle & Rail Jam.  Boardercross, skiercross, halfpipe Competition riders need to join the additional disciples.

6. Fall parent & athlete orientation

8. A safe, tobacco free, alcohol free, and drug free environment

9. T-shirt while supplies last

10.  Fully paid registration by October 1 includes a complimentary team hoodie!

Membership does not include the following:

1. A season pass or daily lift tickets.

2. For riders or skiers competing in the USASA regional series, a USASA membership is required. 

3. Regional competition fees (average $15-40 per event), plus lift tickets, travel, lodging, and meals.

4. Camps elected by the athletes.

5. Personal Equipment

6. For riders  who qualify and compete in the USASA National Championships pay a coaching fee (fee may vary and is based on venue, number of riders, other expenses; as a reference, fees in 2023 were $325+). 

Referral bonus: Refer additional athletes to the team and receive $50 for each referral, excluding G “Fun” team. New member must include your name on his or her registration form as the source of the referral to be eligible. Bonuses paid after January 1.

Payment details:  No refunds or credits will be given for G Team registration fees at anytime throughout the season for any reason including but no limited to injury, grades or scheduling; there are no (zero) exceptions to this policy. Fees paid by credit card throughout the season incur an additional fee of 3%. Returned or Unpaid Checks Policy: A $35.00 handling fee will be charged each time a check is returned unpaid by the bank.
