PRO AM ALPINE COACH - ROBBY BURNS

Growing up in Mount Shasta, California Robby was introduced to Alpine Snowboarding at a young age. He spent his childhood homeschooled, and training on the mountain 5 days a week. After high school Robby graduated from the University of Idaho with two Bachelors degrees in Forestry and Fire Ecology, along with earning two Collegiate National Championships in snowboarding and All American honors. He spends his summers doing a combination of firefighting and forestry work to help fund his competition season each winter.

After college Robby spent the last 6 years as a professional athlete which he continues to this day. After narrowly missing a birth at the 2018 Winter Olympics, he has his eyes set on the 20220 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. Over the years Robby has also explored another passion, coaching and public speaking. Having coached at Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, and for the US Snowboard team, he is not only a well rounded athlete, but a great addition to our coaching staff.

Finishing 15th at FIS World Championships last year was a huge result, in addition to taking home The US National Championship title in PGS and PSL In 2019. Robby is looking forward to continuing his competitive career with G Team, and bring his knowledge base to help expand on a very diverse Alpine program. Robby and head ProAm coach Zach have a long standing relationship, an exciting season planned, and big goals for the athletes. We can’t wait to see what these two do together!
